Who is it suitable for?
Kayseri is suitable for those who want a budget, industrial city, ski Erciyes, family conservative environment and practicality.
Districts
Talas. The best choice for many: university, cafe, young environment, tram.
Melikgazi. Central and wide area, many options.
Kocasinan. Practical, closer to business/transport infrastructure.
Where to be careful
A very conservative environment may be unusual. Winter is cold. There are few expat services.
Housing
Look at heating, insulation, access to transport. Prices are lower than in Western cities.
Cafe and food
Talas: cafe, student life.
Center: lokanta, bazaars.
Local food: mantı, pastırma, sucuk.
Little tricks
- Erciyes makes the city more interesting in winter.
- Without Turkish it will be more difficult.
- Good for saving, not for expat comfort.
